Designated Emphasis in Global Nutrition

The Designated Emphasis in Global Nutrition is a cross-disciplinary program that allows Ph.D. students to receive specialized training in three major fields of knowledge: global nutrition, epidemiology and biostatistics, and social and behavioral sciences.  Students completing this program receive a formal notation on their degrees.

Our mission is to train the next generation of scientists and critical thinkers to be able to evaluate and tackle nutritional problems affecting lower income communities or disadvantaged groups globally. Our faculty and students conduct research in the United States and abroad.

The Designated Emphasis in International and Community Nutrition has seven participating graduate groups:

As we expand the scope of the program, we are interested in including students from other graduate programs or departments.  Please contact the Director of the Designated Emphasis in Global Nutrition for more information.
