Maxwell Barffour receives the Young Scientist Award at the Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau Germany

At the 65th Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau Germany, the PICN post-doctoral research fellow, Maxwell Barffour, received the Young Scientist Award in recognition of his research and interest in malaria, anemia and micronutrient status. Once every year, Nobel Laureates, along with selected young scientists convene at Lindau in Germany to celebrate outstanding scientific accomplishments and discuss emerging scientific challenges.  

The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings foster the exchange among scientists of different generations, cultures, and disciplines. At this conference Maxwell Barffour emerged as the young scientist selected to deliver the closing farewell speech. In his speech, witnessed by Nobel Laureates and government representatives, Maxwell challenged the world to invest in the next generation of African scientists.
